Musicians, choirs and singers for the wedding ceremony in Malta
Through my experience as a photographer, I have had the experience to work with some of the best choirs, musicians and singers. Here I present to you, in there own words, the best suppliers which can animate your wedding ceremony.
Cordia String Quartet
They are a group of very talented musicians who together have been invited to perform in numerous prestigious concerts both locally and abroad, including the Victoria International Arts Festival in Gozo, the August Moon Ball, for Austria’s National Day, in New Delhi and Calcutta under the auspices of Maltese Ambassador for India, at Marlborough House in London for her Majesty the Queen as part of the Commonwealth Celebrations.
While the classical repertoire remains the core of their music, they also play different genres like Waltzes, Musicals, Jazz, Irish, Scottish and Jewish traditional song, Film soundtracks, contemporary pop songs and religious themes.
St. Paul’s Choral Society
The St Paul Choral Society is one of Malta’s leading polyphonic choirs; its repertoire ranges from the 16th century to the present day. Established in 1998, it has around sixty members who meet every Wednesday for practice at the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Naxxar. Since its inception it has been under the musical direction of Dr Hugo Agius Muscat.
Tezara
Tezara is a local artist performing in the theatre and as a singer.
She started her training at Masquerade for several years where she sat for her Individual Acting Skills Trinity Guildhall examinations. She took individual vocal lessons under the tuition of Andriana Yordanova who trained her classically and also prepared her for the Trinity Guildhall Individual Singing examinations. She later started training with Ivan De Gabriele at The Voice Academy where she focused mainly on Musical Theatre, Pop and Rock genres.
She sings at wedding masses and receptions and other events accompanied by a guitarist/pianist. Gigs in the acoustic style are also among her specialty.
Fiona Cauchi
Singer and Guitarist specialising in Wedding Mass Music. A vast repertoire especially designed for a meaningful Wedding Mass to remember.
Rachel Fabri
Rachel is a musical theatre and classical crossover performer from Malta. She completed her Masters in Musical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting in the UK and was Head of Music at Masquerade School for the Performing Arts (2012-2015).
Rachel has played the iconic role of Maria in The Sound of Music at the MCC, Malta (Grapevine Music). Andre Delicata, for The Times of Malta, wrote, "Maria, played by the wonderful Rachel Fabri - whose clear, pure tones certainly do justice to the character - which is no easy task, as the Julie Andrews comparison is inevitable. However, Fabri made the role Maria her very own.."
Dorothy Bezzina
Dorothy is a Soprano who has an amazing voice. Dorothy is a performer who I would recommend if you want a classic female soprano voice for your for your mass and she combines very well with Cordia String Quartet below.
Disclaimer: the list is based on my experience and other suppliers may have a similar level of quality but are not on the list as I have not experienced their work.
