The Grand Harbour Terrace at the Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC) in Valletta, Malta, is an exceptional wedding venue that combines historical elegance with breathtaking views. Located in a 16th-century building originally constructed by the Knights of Malta, this venue offers a unique and romantic setting for your special day.

General information

The location was originally built as the ‘Sacra Infermeria’ of the Order of St. John during the 16th Century. The MCC is housed in a former hospital, retaining its original grandeur with features such as vaulted ceilings and marble floors. The historic charm adds a timeless elegance to your wedding.

The Rooftop location ensures stunning views as the Grand Harbour Terrace provides panoramic views of Valletta's Grand Harbour. This makes it a perfect spot for ceremonies and receptions, especially at sunset when the sky lights up in a majestic orange hue.

Another advantage of the MCC offers various spaces to accommodate different wedding sizes and styles. The Grand Harbour Terrace can host up to 600 guests for an outdoor reception, while indoor options like the Sacra Infermeria Hall can hold up to 1,400 guests for larger ceremonies. In case of rain the complex allows also for a backup indoor option which is available (the Sacra Infermeria Hall) at no extra charge.

One must note that since the venue is on the rooftop, there may be additional costs related to the setup of the venue, due to the lifting equipment required. Also, the entrance for the rooftop is through a lift which gets you to the rooftop.

While the venue is unparalleled in relation to the views, the rooftop is is rather long in its proportions and therefore may create some limitations when it comes to breath (width) of the location. The dance area, for example, may be a bit limited in view of this aspect.

From a photography perspective, additional lighting would be required if the wedding is after sunset, since the default setup does not have offer sufficient light capacity.
